N. CA M.D.I. Recap

The Northern California State M.D.I. Training was held on December 6, 2025, at California State Unive., Sacramento, with 65 members registered, including 20 collegiate members and 18 in attendance. All alumni chapters were registered and present, while all collegiate chapters registered except Mu Lambda Chapter | San Jose State Univ., and Omicron Pi | Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Omicron Zeta Chapter | San Francisco State Univ., was the only registered collegiate chapter not in attendance, and Omicron Eta led collegiate registrations.

The day began with a continental breakfast provided by the Kappa Psi Zeta Chapter | Sacramento, CA and Omega Lambda Zeta Chapter | Rancho Cordova, CA chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., followed by opening remarks from Northern California State Director Bro. Isaac Terry and a welcome from Sor. Michele Gray. The morning program included a mental health presentation by Bro. Stephen Mallette and “Sigma: A Lifelong Commitment,” led by Bro. Skyler Ward.

Reports and presentations were delivered by regional and area leadership, along with virtual presentations on chapter branding and fundraising opportunities. A collegiate breakout session was facilitated by Bros. Hur-Khan Allen and Lee Twyman, followed by campaign presentations in preparation for the upcoming Western Region Conference elections.

Certificates were awarded to collegiate and alumni chapters for outstanding programmatic impact area performance, with Omicron Eta Chapter | CSU, Sacramento, Omicron Psi | UC Berkeley, Iota Alpha Sigma Chapter | Oakland, CA, Epsilon Delta Sigma | Fresno, CA, and Theta Lambda Sigma Chapter | San Jose, CA receiving recognition across multiple categories. All collegiate chapters submitted at least one PIA for the reporting period, as did all alumni chapters except Gamma Sigma Sigma Chapter | Stockton, CA.

Overall, the M.D.I. was a productive and engaging training that reinforced accountability, collaboration, and renewed commitment to Sigma principles.
