Bro. Alex J. Brown | Zeta Kappa Chapter
Alex J. Brown, born in 1979 in Jasper, FL, was a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track. As a senior quarterback at Hamilton County High School, he earned All-American honors and was also the state champion discus thrower in 1996. He went on to play for the University of Florida Gators, setting a career record with 33 sacks and earning SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2001.
Brown was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2002 NFL Draft and played for them from 2002 to 2009. Over his career, he accumulated 411 tackles, 43.5 sacks, and 5 interceptions. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2005 and 2006 and was known for his key defensive contributions, including a career-high 4 sacks in a single game in 2004. Brown finished his career with the New Orleans Saints in 2010 and retired in 2012 with the Bears.
Since retiring, Brown has worked as an analyst for 120 Sports' Football Fix and co-hosts the Dez Clark & Alex Brown Show in Chicago. He also provides post-game analysis for NBC Sports Chicago's Football Aftershow.
