The 2026 Phi Beta Sigma Regional STEM Challenge is here!

The MHI Supply Chain Innovation Competition challenges collegiate brothers to solve a real-world problem in material handling, logistics, or supply chain operations.

Teams will review the latest MHI Annual Report, identify an industry challenge or opportunity, and develop an innovative STEM-focused solution. Each team will submit a PowerPoint presentation and present its solution during the Western Region virtual competition.

Eligibility:

1. Open to fully financial collegiate members.
2. Teams must include one to four members from the same collegiate chapter or a combination of different chapters.
3. All members must be financially active at the Regional and International levels.
4. Each team may submit one solution.

Important Regional STEM Competition dates:

1. Challenge and registration open: September 3rd
2. Registration deadline: September 18th
3. Team development period: September 19th - October 16th
4. Final presentation due: October 18th
5. Virtual Regional STEM Challenge: October 22

Presentations will be evaluated on:

1. Innovation and Creativity: 30%
2. Feasibility and Practicality: 25%
3. Impact: 25%
4. Presentation and Communication: 20%

The Regional winning team may be eligible to receive financial support to attend the 2027 Phi Beta Sigma International Conclave in National Harbor, Maryland, subject to available program funding and Fraternity travel policies. The team may also be recognized across Phi Beta Sigma and MHI platforms and have opportunities to engage and network with MHI member companies.

Collegiate chapters, assemble your teams and prepare to compete. Alumni chapters can support this effort by mentoring a collegiate team, connecting brothers with supply chain or STEM professionals, and helping teams prepare their presentations.
