Harriet Private Screening

November 2, 2019, By PBSWest.org

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter Tacoma, WA held a private film screening of Harriet, a film about the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. "I think it's important as representation goes, seeing a person of color on screen as the hero, is important, especially such a historically important one as Harriet Tubman," stated Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter President, Bro. Everett Bond. All donations and $5.00 of every ticket was tax-deductible and benefited their non-profit, 501(c)(3) Blu Crescent Foundation to support our Male mentorship program at Lincoln High School along with our 2019-20 high school scholarships.
