Two-thirds of our Adopt-A-School, TAF Academy's senior class has received college scholarships, and there's still more to come.

Congratulations are in order for the TAF Academy graduating class of 2017! For most of the senior class, their academic journey with TAF Academy (TAFA) began seven years ago in sixth grade. Since then, they’ve been given opportunities to shine as leaders in the community, scholars, artists, innovators and more. As the school year comes to a close and the culminating event of graduation approaches, their hard work has become increasingly evident. Two-thirds of our seniors have been awarded college scholarships, and the announcements continue to trickle in every week.

One of the shining stars of the 2017 graduating class is Kamryn Bond. As a student at TAF Academy since six grade, Kamryn has become a young woman aiming to positively change her community. During her time at TAFA she has taken leadership roles in extracurricular activities including traveling to Costa Rica and Japan for service learning trips. Kamryn Bond, has been selected the 2016-17 Valedictorian for TAF Academy and was awarded the Epsilon Epsilon Sigma Chapter David L. Davidson Memorial Scholarship. She will be attending Pacific Lutheran University in the fall with an emphasis on English. Kamryn currently holds a 3.96 GPA.

Here’s the running list of Kamryn's scholarship awards thus far:
Urban League of Metro Seattle (ULMS)
Washington State Opportunity Scholarship
Burger King Scholarship
Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarship
Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship
Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship

EES is honored to be partnered with the TAFA, a nonprofit leader in STEM education and excellence in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you to TAF co-founder Trish Millines Dziko and her staff of administrators and educators for their remarkable work in STEM education.
